DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCEDURE
Iontophoresis is a method of drug delivery into the deep layers of the body's tissues with low voltage, weak electrical impulses. The method combines the curative qualities of current and drug therapy. Iontophoresis can also be performed without the medications in case of certain indications.
HOW THE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED?
The procedure is carried out by applying for electrode plates with special hydrophilic patches to the treated area, and then a low voltage electric current is supplied.
First, the hydrophilic patches are soaked in medications.
Then the electrodes are fixed with elastic bandages, if necessary. The procedure can cause you to feel a slight tingling or stinging, absolutely painless and noninvasive. It takes 10-30 minutes. The number of procedures is prescribed by the physician according to the indications. The average course includes 10-20 procedures.

RESULTS OF THE PROCEDURE
The current pulses improve the blood and lymph circulation in the treated area. Besides, metabolic processes and tissue regeneration (nerve, osseous, connective tissues) are activated. Due to the current effect, the treated areas become sensitive to the administration of medications, improving the drug therapy results.
